Cheri has worked in the field of infertility for more than 10 years. Her expertise spans a broad range of infertility education, experience and counseling. Cheri has supported thousands of couples along their infertility journey, providing direction, information and encouragement.
Her experience includes the In Vetro Fertilization (IVF) Coordinator in a program that performed over 500 cases per year. Cases consisted of IVF, ZIFT, GIFT, ICSI, FET, Egg Donor/Recipient, Embryo Donation/Recipient and Gestational Carrier IVF. She has coordinated and executed Patient Care, Administration, Education and Third Party Reproduction. She has monitored patients’ responses to medications, delivered daily follow up calls, and performed lengthy consultations with couples undergoing ART procedures, educating patients of the detailed process of IVF, pre-testing, medications, side effects, egg retrieval and transfer, and options of cryopreservation and FET. She has consulted with physicians and counselors and researched support resources on behalf of patients.
Cheri has also consulted hundreds of couples requiring an egg donor, matched egg donors with recipients and ensured couple were fully informed prior to and during the procedure, coordinating cycles and overseeing legal contracts and consents.
She has performed and/or assisted with ultrasounds, intrauterine inseminations, post coital testing, endometrial biopsy, ovarian cyst drainage, D & C, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, sonohsytograms, and much more. She has developed treatment tracking software for infertility nurses and has written a wealth of educational materials for patients.
Cheri holds a RN BSN degree from Grand Valley State University, Michigan, where she graduated summa cum laude. She is a Phi Kappa Phi Member. She is currently a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Nurses Professional Group, Mental Health Professional Group and Association of Reproductive Managers.
She is active at ASRM meetings and Fertility Nursing Conferences and she is an avid reader of the industries many journals and magazines. Cheri is a committed educator, speaking at conferences and delivering infertility training to nurses earning CEU’s. Her instruction includes the various infertility treatments and relative success rates, the emotional and physical challenges of infertility, the role of the fertility nurse in the patient’s life, how and when to refer patients to an infertility specialist, and much more.
